Donate to the Conrad L. Mallett, Jr. Portrait Fund

In December of 1990, he was appointed to the Michigan Supreme Court. Conrad L. Mallett was re-elected to a two-year term in 1992, and re-elected again for an eight-year term in 1994. Mallett was the first African American to serve as Chief Justice on the Michigan Supreme Court. Justice Mallett retired from the Court at the end of 1998.

Donate to the Coleman Internship Program

The Coleman Internship is awarded annually to an undergraduate honors student interested in gaining real-world experience while performing historical research fo the Society. Our flagship publication, the Michigan Supreme Court Historical Refernce Guide, was the result of the 1998 internship.

Donate to the Big Four Writing and Research Project

The Big Four Writing & Research Project is being conducted in cooperation with Western Michigan University. A fellowship will be offered in the school year 2003-2004 to an graduate-level candidate to research and write a scholarly publication relating to an aspect of Michigan legal history.
