Geraldine – known as “Gera” to her friends – came to law later in life, waiting to attend law school until the youngest of her three children left for college. At various points in her career, she’d served as an elementary school teacher, managed a physician’s office, ran an allergy clinic, and was a FINRA registered stock broker/financial consultant with Merrill Lynch. So law school was the next logical step. She graduated magna cum laude in 2003 and joined the State Bar in November 2004.
After graduation, Gera practiced in Detroit and Midland before working for the Attorney General Department, from which she recently retired after fourteen years. Not one to rest of her laurels in retirement, Gera is now retraining in mediation and plans to return to community mediation work.
In her free time, Gera travels, paints, makes pottery, and spends time with family. Not satisfied with current education and degrees, she does still hope to complete the last requirements to obtain her pilot’s license.
