Mark R. Bendure

When Mark joined the Society board in 2020, he’d already been a lawyer for 46 years.  After graduating from law school in 1973, Mark worked as a research attorney and law clerk at the Court of Appeals before co-founding Bendure & Thomas in 1977, where he’s been ever since.  Mark is a frequent advocate in the Michigan Supreme Court and has argued in the United States Supreme Court and several federal Courts of Appeal as well.  His briefs have won the Cooley Law School Distinguished Brief award in each of the past four decades.  His past volunteer work includes service on the Michigan Civil Jury Instruction Committee, judging the University of Michigan Campbell Club (moot court) competition, and in the Eastern District of Michigan federal pro bono program.  He has been recognized as a “Superlawyer” every year since 2007, as well as “Leader in the Law”.
