Register Now! – Society Annual Membership Luncheon

2026 marks the 65th of the beginning of Michigan’s 1961-1962 Constitutional Convention. This convention – which resulted in the 1963 constitution – was the first in Michigan’s history to include woman delegates. In a time when the state’s supreme court not only has a super-majority of women justices but is also led by a woman chief justice – not to mention our woman governor, secretary of state, and SBM president – it is fitting to revisit the story of the eleven female delegates who helped revise Michigan’s constitution. Retired attorney Lynn Liberato’s book Michigan’s Con-Con 11: Women and State Constitution-making in 1961 does just that and she’ll be the Society keynote speaker at our Annual Luncheon on April 15, 2026.
